"Portland Bill"

Portland bill which sits at the very tip of the Island has this old lighthouse which is now a bird observatory, or at least it was during most of my childhood, not sure if it still is to be honest.


This one is set a bit further back than our well known red and white lighthouse here at Portland Bill.
Portland Bill attracts a few bird watchers during the course of the year, in the summer you can see them everywhere in the bushes trying to hide as best as they can while keeping the birds in view.

I am not 100% sure of this but I remember hearing somewhere locally that the womens birth control pill was invented here too.
