The crane on the "old new road" set into where they landscaped it after realigning due to the slight instability mainly because of the constant traffic and lots of heavy vehicles like lorries used for transporting the stone.
Although a nice crane there is no way in my opinion that is based on anything we really had which would pick up the stone sample they have in place under it.
Makes a nice feature for the place though.
As you say, an eyecatcher. There is a piece of stone on the left hand side of the hill as you come up which I have often thought would make a super Eagles head, it is an overhanging piece and some clever mason could chip it out beautifully.There is so much that could be done on our roadsides to make the place even more attractive.

takes genius to know genius Rob. There are probably more bits of stone that could be turned into something of beauty. Don't know how we could implement this, permission and so forth and who to do it and would they do it voluntary - think not sadly. Surely one of the stone firms could make it a gift to the Island!! Wonder about the Tout Quarry people who come in the summer time some of their stuff is great as I show in my Tout photo album. Any ideas??
