Here of course not the actual Island, so if you are reading this via RSS or email, you may want to check it out, I appreciate any of your opinions and thoughts regarding the new cleaner look.
The old template was not quite working well with certain things I wanted to add here, not to mention the blog needed a bit of an updated look anyway.
It was an important part of the overall improvements I want to make here.
One area I wanted to get sorted out was a neater post summaries template and a "static post" function as now seen above on the main home page... "featured" and thankfully this new one come up trumps, although a two column one would have been good, a sidebar does have some benefits.
Once I get the subdomain issues sorted out, I aim to do several related pages to add to this blog, for example, map.portland-bill could be just a map page.
You will notice that the general info and profile is at the bottom of the blog, I think it makes the actual content a bit more prominent, the content is what matters after all.
So any links to new pages would most likely end up near the bottom anyway.
You may see subtle changes here and there as I test, track, improve things overall, with the aim of making it as best I can for you the reader.
Update: Added share buttons below each post, now with one click you can share any post to your facebook, twitter and other social profile pages you use. Simply click the icon of the chosen site.
How do you like this look? Any thoughts on it?
