I recently wrote of the local issues regarding the energy plant which would be relying on palm oil, this plant which has been planned for Portland harbour, the post was discussing Portland going green, at what cost.
It doesn't seem the locals have been asked about this much, that is one issue when facing this sort of thing, they don't care what the locals think, as long as they can do what they want.
Since then more awareness has been raised and acted on with the N.O.P.E march being made this coming Saturday 27th feb.
The Panorama program showed what this stuff does to the environment elsewhere too, while asking us if it's worth dying for a biscuit.
This sort of thing has an effect for generations to come and we should be avoiding it as much as possible.
We are so arrogant as as species that we will allow our closest "relative" in the animal kingdom to be wiped out, the majestic Orang Utan is on the way to extinction, 40% of their natural habitat has already gone.
How sad, how arrogant, how pathetic.
We have to stand up and say, NO, we don't want this crap, not here, there or anywhere.
So if you can make this march please do, if not, at least let others know about it.
