Looks like I am not the only one judging by the amount of people I have seen out enjoying it, diving, swimming, canoeing (as you see in the picture) fishing and some sunbathers... (hopefully being sensible with sunscreen!)
Chesil beach under a blue sky, a great place to spend the day. I hope you are all having a great summer too.
Great weather meant I have had the chance to get out and take some photos, so plenty of them for the next few months to use on here, and a few I think are print worthy.
Considering the roadworks that are going on in "town" (Weymouth) as usual screwing up summer traffic like every damn year, it's been nice to avoid it all staying on Portland the majority of the time.
The major roadworks going on is for the benefit of the 2012 Olympic sailing that will be here on PORTLAND... not Weymouth as they so often keep saying, the cheek of it, it is really getting annoying now, anytime there is anything bad happen here, say something related to the prison, the news ONLY say's Portland, never Weymouth... yet when it's a good bit of news, Weymouth jumps on it... like these Olympics which are ONLY on Portland, in PORTLAND HARBOUR, nowhere near Weymouth!
About time they spent some of OUR tax money they lavish on Weymouth on updating Portland's Viccy square.
Excuse the mini rant there, I am just fed up of it really, it sticks in our throats here on Portland, most of us feel the same way.
Weymouth doesn't promote Portland anything like it does itself.
